Mitochondrial signals

Project 3: Identification of mitochondrial signals that drive angiogenesis.  

Energy demands compel more vascular supply to restore energy homeostasis. Characteristic metabolite signatures emerge from unbiased metabolomics and single-cell transcriptomic analysis of animal models with proliferative vascular phenotypes. We postulate that mitochondria communicate its regenerative program to the cell nucleus via epigenetic metabolite signals.
